Meals are served either buffet or family style in the great room of the lodge. They specialize in hearty ranch meals. The meals are prepared using only the finest ingredients to satisfy your entire family. They are especially proud of their beef products that are raised naturally on grain and grass on the ranch. No steroids are used, and the cattle are processed through the family’s own federally inspected plant.
Chef Damon brings the taste of “country gourmet” to Western Pleasure Guest Ranch. Whether it's his made-from-scratch dressings and sauces or his Chicken Marsala, Salmon Cakes with Spicy Aioli, Portobello and Spinach Manicotti, Chili Verde, ribs, wild game, or the Woods' signature Prime Rib and beef... you are in for a memorable dining experience! And we haven't even gotten to Damon's gourmet desserts like Crème Brulee, Chocolate “To-Die-For” Mousse, or Bananas Foster! When people ask him where he got his training, he always says, “I got it the old-fashioned way: I started working in kitchens when I was 14 years old, washing dishes, sweeping floors, and learning to cook after school and on weekends.” Being of Italian descent, most of his fundamentals come from eating his grandmother's homecooking. He spent several years at Ivano's Restaurant in Sandpoint, where his culinary skills and artistic flair were honed while working alongside owner and friend, Jim Lippi. Guests who return year after year to the ranch brag about feeling like they are part of our family, and Chef Damon's cooking adds the finishing touch to a truly incredible and memorable, down-home, country experience.
