18 Summers for Family Vacation

18 Summers. That is all the time you get to spend with your children as children. As a mother of two, thinking about the time I have left with my children before they become adults pulls at my heartstrings just a bit. I only have a limited amount of time to make those summertime childhood memories, in fact, I have 11 Summers left. I want my children to experience the thrill of swimming in a mountain lake, camping on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, hiking to a mountain’s peak, exploring the ranch on horseback, picking huckleberries, catching trout from a creek and cooking dinner over a campfire. I want to show my children how to appreciate the outdoors and give them the opportunity to fall in love with it just as I did as a child. Idaho’s tourism website VisitIdaho.org has been reminding us parents that our time is limited. Summer isn’t the only thing that goes by fast, make this summer count.
